Opening .csv file in Excel resulting in error?
In a .csv file exported from FIBRES, each field of text is separated by a semicolon (;). When Excel opens a .csv file, it uses the current default data format settings to interpret how to import each column of data. If your Excel is expecting a comma (,) delimiter instead, opening the .csv file will result in an error.
To avoid this from happening, you should import the .csv file via another route instead:
- Click Data
- Under Get Data, choose From text
- Select your .csv file to import
See precise instructions in this Microsoft step-by-step guide for importing .csv files.
