How to create findings

There are many ways to create findings in FIBRES, reflecting the many ways you can grow your findings database.

Create an empty finding

Starting to work on a new topic? Click Create. You'll be guided to choose a finding type and give your finding a title. This is a good option if you have a new topic in mind that you want to start working on and you don't previously have any content on it.

Create a finding from a scraped PDF

FIBRES can scrape your PDFs for you. Just select PDF in the Create flow and FIBRES scrapes the beginning of the PDF and adds the PDF document as an attachment to the finding.

Create a finding from a scraped news article

FIBRES has a native way of creating findings from news articles. Instead of copy-pasting interesting content from the web, you can use the web clipper to import the contents of almost any web page into FIBRES.

Create a finding from existing findings

Already have some findings in FIBRES that you want to group together in a new finding? Instead of starting with Create, you may select these findings in the Findings view and then select Link from the pop-up action bar to create a new finding out of them.

This saves a few steps compared to creating an empty finding and then proceeding to add other findings to it. For example, you might want to select a bunch of Signals and use them to create a higher-level finding, such as a Signal cluster or a Trend.

Create findings from AI picks

AI picks are intelligent recommendations from our FIBRESEED database. If you see an interesting article under AI picks, click the link icon to add it to FIBRES and link it to the finding you were working on.

Create findings from Sources

Under Sources, you can search the entire FIBRESEED database and other sources possibly connected to your account. When selecting articles in Sources, you have the option to add them to FIBRES.

Create findings by adding a ready-made data set

In addition to findings written by you or added by you from the open web, we offer the option to add full data sets curated by others. We currently offer data sets curated by human experts and generated by AI.

Create findings from an Excel or CSV sheet

Have you collected inputs into different tools or spreadsheets? We can import those to FIBRES in one go. Contact support for data imports.
