5 steps to take when saving a new signal

Recommended steps to take when you bring in new findings.

1. Create a new Signal

The first step is to add your signal to FIBRES. Is it a web page or a web article? Use the web clipper. Is it a thought, an image, or PDF? Start by clicking Create.

2. Check AI picks for existing findings

If you created the new signal by clipping, AI picks should immediately find and surface related content from your existing findings.

If you created your signal in another way and the description is empty, write a few sentences. This will help AI picks find the related content from your account.

Check these suggestions for relevant cluster level items.

3. Link with a relevant Signal cluster

Do you already have a Trend or a Signal cluster that you're using to collect and summarize your knowledge on this topic? Link them with your new Signal.

If AI picks didn't find your top-level finding, use the link editor to find it and link it.

User rights

To link a Signal with a Signal cluster, you need Trend scout user rights. To link a Signal with a Trend, you need Trend manager user rights. Ask your Administrator for the right user rights.

4. Assess the Signal with Classifications

Hopefully your account has been configured with relevant Classifications for your use case. Assess your new Signal by clicking on the Classifications.

Classifications work as filters so this will help your colleagues find your Signal when they're looking for specific types of insights.

5. Share your thoughts in a comment

Finally, tell in the comments why you added this Signal. What was interesting about it to you?  What do you think should be done about it?

This will help you not just grow your signal database, but initiate important discussions about the possible impacts and actions.

Your team, your future
